Just the F.A.Q.s for VAMP’s PUBLIC Murder Mystery Shows:
1) What is a murder mystery dinner show?
This is a very popular type of dinner show in which a murder occurs. Audience members solve the murder by watching for clues throughout the evening
2) Is there a stage?
It depends on the location, but our actors do perform in FRONT of the audience. We do not wander around the room. We stay in one area where everyone can see and hear us. At our home base, White Owl Winery, there is a stage.
3) Can I bring children?
Our shows are fast-paced. Children will not follow the material. This is more an “evening out” event for adults.
4) What rating would you give VAMP’s Murder Mystery shows?
Our shows could be rated PG. Most shows contain mature topics such as infidelity, sexual innuendos and of course, murder. We are never graphic in words or deeds. Private shows may be offered with more or without mature themes.
5) Is there blood?
Most murders are committed off stage. There may be some stage blood if necessary, but nothing grisly.
6) How does the evening progress?
A typical murder mystery dinner occurs as such:
Upon arrival, give the host your name to check in. When you are seated, you will find your clue sheet and show program.
Act One sets up the characters and location. If this is a dinner, the salads are served before/after this act.
Act Two really gets to the “heart” of the matter. This is where the majority of clues are given out and a murder may occur. The entrees are served before/after this act.
Act Three is when the characters present their alibis. Get those clue sheets filled out. They will be collected after this act. Dessert served before/after this act.
Act Four is when the murder is solved and prizes are awarded.
VAMP awards prizes for the correct deducer, the best-dressed in the theme of the evening and the best audience actor.
7) Do I have to take a part in the show?
No. Our shows do not require half the audience to be involved. We will ask for three to five audience members to volunteer to come up on stage and help us out. There is no preparation required. Just read what we hand you. And remember, the audience will be voting for the best audience actor at the end of the evening, so relax and have fun!
8) Is there a dress code?
We usually recommend dressy casual. (This is an evening out after all.) If you would like to dress in the theme of the show, visit our web site and check the show description for ideas. Prizes are awarded for the best dressed in the theme of the evening. Voting is done
by the audience.
9) Do you recognize birthdays, anniversaries, engagements?
Yes, just let us know when you make reservations or when you
arrive that evening.
10) Where do I get tickets?
For a show, which VAMP is also producing, there are no tickets. When you place your reservations, your confirmation page is your receipt. This will act as your ticket. Your name will also be on a list
at the door.
